Contractor Experience

Hiring a qualified home inspector with a background in construction who offers new construction services could save you some grief; not to mention the money you'll save on future repairs later on when these defect become evident.  Below are two standard offers you should consider to handle your New Construction Inspections.

Replacing a roof?   Having a new home built?   Remodeling a bathroom?   Adding a deck?

We’ll make sure your contractor does it right!

Have one of our local and independent certified inspectors stop by and check to see that the work is being done properly, before it’s too late. The inspector can also approve the completed job before you make the final payment to the contractor.

Reasonable Rates: It costs no more than a few hundred dollars per visit to have a third-party, certified inspector check your project.

PROJECT AND CONTRACTOR OVERSIGHT:

Whether you’re planning to build an addition or remodel an existing room, INSPX can provide consultation, or just stop by to make sure it’s being completed correctly. If you’ve decided to hire a contractor, we’ll make sure the job is complete before you make that final payment.

NEW CONSTRUCTION PHASE INSPECTIONS:

Having a home built? Hire INSPX to come out and make sure your contractors are doing it right before your write those progress payment checks. Below are two standard offers you may choose to handle your Construction Phase Inspections. Each can be tailored to your specifications.

Three Point Inspections: We come by to perform a post pour foundation check, a pre-drywall check and a Final Walk Through. You are provided with the same Home Inspection Services we provide in every home, focusing on health and safety issues. Adding these additional trips while the house is being built will give you the peace of mind that defects, which would otherwise be hiding between your floors and walls unnoticed, have been addressed.

Our three phase inspection does not include a review  of Specifications or Construction Plans and Drawings.  It requires that all the Framing Plumbing, Electrical and Heating and Ventilation be complete before the Pre-Drywall inspection can be performed even if they are finished weeks or months apart. Finished Carpentry will not be checked until the Final Walk Through. Three Point Inspections may require additional re-inspections visits, which are not included and are billed separately.

Seven Point Inspections: Same as the Three Point Inspections except this service includes a review of Specifications and Construction Plans and Drawings.  Additional services include separate foundation check,  framing check,  plumbing check, electrical check, heating and ventilation check.  Finished carpentry check will follow before the Final Walk through. More visits means problems are caught earlier so that your project stays on schedule. This type of inspection is particularly handy if you are making progress payments to your builder. Additional billings for re-inspections are less likely because they may be performed during another inspection phase.

Pre-construction, builder meetings and consultation services are also available for an additional fee

NEW CONSTRUCTION FINAL WALK THROUGH INSPECTIONS:

After months of Construction, your house is finally complete, and all you need to do is take the final walk through and get the keys. Without an Inspector, the builder takes you on a rushed tour through the house while you’re planning where your furniture is going to go.

Not so fast! This is an opportunity to make sure the builder delivered what he promised and that any damages and imperfections are taken care of before you hand the builder his final payment.    NJPI carefully walks you through the house, making sure everything is performing correctly, looking for defects you need to add to your punchlist so that they may be addressed before closing. We’ll also show you how to operate the systems in your new home.  We don’t check building code but if we see something peculiar, we’ll make sure you know to ask about it.

INSPECTION OF INDIVIDUAL HOME COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS:

You may not always need your entire home inspected. Maybe there are just one or two things you have a concern over or want an unbiased opinion about a specific component or system in your home before you call a contractor. INSPX will be happy to come by and take a quick look for you.
